Fadami Waterfall
Thick greenery and uninterrupted flow of water, come together in Fadami waterfall. It is located near the city of Fadami, 130 kilometers away from Darab, south-east of Shiraz. With a width of about 800 meters, the waterfall used to enjoy the title of the widest waterfall of Iran. Today, at 200 meters’ width, if not the widest, it is for sure one of the most wonderful waterfalls of the country.
This multi-drop waterfall is an astonishing composition of fresh and salt water, cascades plunging into a natural pond. In summer, the fresh water falling down from the height of 12-20 meters turns cold, and the salt water becomes warmer. Inversely, in winter the salt water which falls down from the height of 10 to 15 meters, gets colder than the fresh water stream. These streams come together in a natural pond, 20 meters from the waterfall. The water from the pond is used for agriculture, the nearby villages and cities take their drinking water from the fresh water spring about a kilometer from the waterfall. The perennial streams of water are full in all seasons of the year, making the waterfall a delightful place to visit year-round.
